Why do you need Bluetooth beacon for tracking?
A Bluetooth beacon can be used for indoor tracking.
In some cases, you use the trackers for outdoor (GPS) tracking most of the time. You may wonder, "do I need a beacon too?". Our recommendation is, yes.
The tracker does not know whether it is in a building or not. When it is, it still turns on GPS and searches for satellites, which wastes battery. If there are some beacon inside a building, the tracker knows that it’s in a building and will not turn on GPS. So, Bluetooth beacon can help to save power and extend battery life. -
What is the coverage range of Outdoor LoRaWAN Gateway?
The coverage range is limited by the end nodes whose antennas are usually not that good.
For example, if the LoRaWAN gateway intends to communicate with the badge tracker, the coverage range is up to 1.5km, @SF9, with several buildings and woods in between. When communicating in open spaces, such as the sea, the coverage range can be up to 20km.
If the LoRaWAN gateway intends to communicate with Bluetooth gateways, take our Solar Bluetooth Gateways for exmaple, the distance can be up to 5km, @SF9, with several buildings and woods in between. -
